“The combination of the beautiful, lodge-like accommodations, the charming small-town atmosphere, and the delightful local cuisine made it a perfect getaway."

Connally House:
This past 4th of July, we had the pleasure of staying at the Connally House, part of the Hoffman Haus Boutique Bed and Breakfast in Fredericksburg, Texas. Nestled in the heart of this charming small town, the Connally House proved to be the perfect setting for a quintessential Independence Day celebration. There's truly nothing better than experiencing a small-town 4th of July parade on Main Street, complete with floats, marching bands, and a palpable sense of community spirit.

Rustic Comforts: A Mountain Touch
The Connally House is a gem, particularly ideal for two couples seeking equal amenities. This two-suite house offers a harmonious blend of rustic elegance and modern comfort. With its grand lodge appeal, the house boasts a 24-foot ceiling and a stunning wooden two-story staircase.
The architectural design immediately evoked memories of a Colorado retreat, making it feel like a mountain getaway right in the heart of Texas. The grand staircase, in particular, provided a perfect backdrop for family and wedding photos, capturing the essence of our stay.
Adding to the charm of the Connally House is the matching guest house, aptly named The Cottage. This cozy suite provides an additional option for a third couple, ensuring everyone in your group can enjoy their own private space. The Cottage features an antique tub, perfect for a relaxing soak after a day of exploring. With its own unique character and comforts, The Cottage complements the Connally House beautifully, making it an excellent choice for larger groups or families.
Rocking Spot: Perfect For Morning Coffee
One of our favorite spots was the back porch, where we spent our mornings and evenings in the comfort of rocking chairs.
The porch is shaded by a beautiful canopy of trees, offering a cool respite from the summer heat. It's the ideal spot to enjoy a cup of coffee, read a book, or simply soak in the tranquility of the surroundings. Speaking of coffee, the brew provided by Caliche Coffee, the best little coffee shop in Texas, was superb. Starting each day with a cup of their rich, aromatic coffee was a delightful treat.
The Front Porch: Nature's Serenade
For those who love a bit of pampering, the Connally House features two deep soaker tubs, perfect for indulgent bubble baths. If you're planning a visit, don't forget to bring along your favorite Lush bath bombs.

Eats: A Culinary Experience
Food is always a highlight of any trip, and Fredericksburg did not disappoint. We indulged in a fantastic meal at Ala Campania, our favorite restaurant in town. The lasagna was to die for, and the pizza was equally divine. Ala Campania makes all their own pasta, and their pizza oven, imported from Italy, not only produces superb pizzas but is also a work of art in itself.
Another culinary highlight was our visit to Otto's, the number one rated German restaurant in Fredericksburg. The schnitzel there is famous for a reason-every bite was a burst of flavor. The combination of traditional German recipes with local ingredients made for an unforgettable dining experience.
Our stay at the Connally House was everything we hoped for and more. The combination of the beautiful, lodge-like accommodations, the charming small-town atmosphere, and the delightful local cuisine made it a perfect getaway. We highly recommend the Connally House for anyone looking to experience the best of Fredericksburg. Whether you're planning a romantic escape, a family trip, or a gathering with friends, this unique and inviting house will exceed your expectations.
As we reluctantly packed our bags to leave, we couldn't help but reflect on the wonderful memories we made. From the joy of the 4th of July parade to the serene moments on the back porch, every aspect of our stay was special. We left with full hearts and a firm resolve to return to the Connally House again soon. If you're considering a trip to Fredericksburg, don't hesitate-book your stay at the Connally House and prepare to fall in love with this enchanting
